Oh, deer!

Last week in church, I stopped to talk to my neighbor that lives through the fence. She recently moved back to her house that she has owned for many years, but had been renting it out. She mentioned that there had been deer in her backyard, and she was so excited about it, she wanted to see them, but had only seen.... shall we say 'evidence' of them. Oh yeah, there were footprints, (or I guess hoof prints) too. I have lived in so many places that had huge herds of deer (we're talking twenty or thirty or more at a time) running through our yard, it was funny to me how excited she was. Apparently she is a light sleeper, and every time she heard anything at night, she would leap out of bed and sneak to the window to see if she could catch any deer in her yard. She had been trying for days (or should I say nights,) to find them, but no luck.

Last Wednesday, I looked over the fences, (there are two fences between our houses, the city has access in-between them) and laughed out loud. Here was her long lost herd, lounging leisurely in her backyard for lunch. I had to run to my bedroom window and take some pictures for her. I wish I could have used the other side of the window, but the screen doesn't make for a very good shot. Here are the five deer having a private party in her backyard. I need to tell her she is up at the wrong time of day. It was 12:00, just lunch time, not midnight.

An extra two points if you can find all three deer in this picture. I have no idea what to do with the points after you earn them, but you can have them just the same.
